Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

-Marianne Williamson

I am a recent graduate with a degree in communications and a minor in Spanish. I was a Division 1 Track and Field athlete at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I started my collegiate career as a high jumper but eventually became Heptathlete. Being a collegiate athlete is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done but also the most rewarding. Seeing my hard work pay off in competition is one of the best feelings out there. I was on a team with people from all over the world who become like family because we trained together, ate together, traveled together and we all stayed in the same dorms together. Being with my teammates became the best thing about being at University and one of the hardest things about leaving! Being an athlete for the majority of my life has been a huge contributor in shaping who I am today. My passion for community, my competitive nature, and my determination in spite of difficult odds have been built up in me throughout my time as an athlete.

I am also from a large family. I have 5 sisters, 1 brother, and 9 nieces/nephews and we are all very close! Every one of them is so special to me and play a unique part in making me who I am. My family has helped develop my love for connecting with people from all different walks of life and helped me learn how to love without judgment or conditions.

I have a background in branding and marketing, and I’ve worked at a few different non-profits. My communication studies have definitely come in handy while being at The Haven. It has shown up in writing blogs and newsletters, making signage more welcoming and inclusive, media marketing,  and even just connecting with members daily!

Working at the Haven has given me a greater sense of community while being in Bend and opened me up to so many learning opportunities that have grown my skill sets. I have met some amazing people and I work with the most amazing team. I am so excited to be a part of The Haven family and continue connecting with and assisting all of the growing businesses in our community.
