Chelsea Callicott | Executive Director

"The Haven is an inspired space that calls forth the best in us, a place to spread our wings, personally and professionally. We arrive, intent upon our personal goals and dreams, and realize, through the magic of this community, that we are deeply connected and capable of more than we could have ever imagined on our own. Who wouldn’t want to be part of this?”

Chelsea is best known as an enthusiastic champion for social justice, the arts, thought leaders, and innovators. She brings to the Haven years of experience launching organizations and individuals, from arts institutions and political candidates, to solopreneurs. A public relations pro for over two decades, most recently as owner of Callicott Social PR, Chelsea is passionate about telling stores, and looks forward to sharing The Haven’s many storylines with the media and through newsletters, social media, podcasts, and blogs. She has worked with media outlets around the world, most notably with the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, where she served as Director of PR and Marketing during the grand opening of a new building. She began her career in city government and has been a lifelong volunteer supporting the homeless, equity, and youth development through schools, churches, and multiple nonprofits. A partner with Guardian Group, a national human trafficking prevention organization based in Bend, Chelsea engages the media to build awareness of their critical offensive and defensive efforts. #wefightforher

While most of The Haven’s communications will have her hand in them, Chelsea is grateful to have other marketing colleagues round out the team. She’ll draw upon her customer service experience to create a responsive and thoughtful member-friendly culture at The Haven, one that honors and supports the diverse needs of the membership. Her experience as a life and business coach is another asset she’ll share with members. A natural bridge builder, Chelsea sees unexplored synergies between people and seeks to connect them. She intends to tap the talents of Haven members and other colleagues to create an engaging menu of Haven programming, having originated programs for Connect W for two years. She is thrilled about the chance to collaborate with The Haven Leadership and others in the community in her role as Executive Director, which she’s sees as a cross between Mary Poppins, Brene Brown, and Madam Secretary.

Chelsea has never met a dog she didn’t like, and the same can be said of people. A lifelong student of The Enneagram, she constantly seeks to develop her emotional intelligence and live more authentically. She loves to avail herself of Central Oregon’s beauty through hikes, paddles and camping, and is especially enamored with our amazing summers. As she and her husband Preston, CEO of Five Talent Software, are about to send their twins off to college, she feels extremely grateful to have a challenge such as The Haven to wrap her creative energy around.
