Introducing: Haven Ambassadors

They want to hear your story, help you connect with other members, offer lunch recommendations, and answer your questions about The Haven. They’re the Haven Ambassadors.

It’s not a paid gig but the term ambassador adds a touch of formality to the energy and community-building efforts that these ten members add to The Haven. Some ambassadors have been members of The Haven Co-Working since day one, some for a few months. But for all, it’s where they run their small businesses, provide freelance services, and work remotely for companies.

The ambassador program was inspired by Scott Douglas, Co-Founder and Chief Cheerleader of The Haven. Scott initiated a similar program with his company, Cascade Relays, to recognize the grassroot efforts of relay participants and volunteers that built the event company’s fun and friendly culture. Ambassadors received swag and volunteered to represent Cascade Relays and share their experiences at community events.

Similarly, The Haven Ambassadors are members who consistently contribute to the culture of the coworking space with their enthusiasm and willingness to share their experiences with new members. The new title highlights the value they add to our coworking space and encourages new members to connect with them when they have a question or are looking for a recommendation.

So, what are some of the fun roles that our ambassadors play? Those with an OLCC permit can pour you a beer, cider, or glass of wine while in The Café.

You will also find ambassadors mingling at new member orientations, happy hours, and similar events. They intentionally foster an inclusive environment by helping new members feel welcome and by sharing their knowledge of The Haven.

  • Not sure how to reserve or use a paddle board?
  • Interested in hosting a meeting on the patio, but have questions about the protocol?
  • Looking to connect with a local photographer to take family photos?

Ambassadors can help you out!

Over the next several months, we will introduce each of the ambassadors, how they utilize The Haven, and what they want new members to know about their favorite coworking space.

When you see an ambassador, say hi! Many of them wear name tags or will identify themselves as an ambassador. The one thing the ambassador program is not, is an exclusive group. It’s just another way for The Haven to be a safe space where community members that support social and economic equity and freedom of self can flourish.
